If they are limited, I think the Haboly movement rates should be comparable to the published list. If not limited its fine as is.

One says he is prevented from giving rightful evidence of eternal at-one-ment with infinite good because another has apparently failed in giving his full measure of service to him or to others.

Thus the human mind accepts the suggestion that there can be a limitation of success, a limitation of love, a limitation of health, a limitation of life, until the whole sense of limitation culminates in the belief of death.

The very acceptance of the belief of life, substance, and intelligence in matter is itself limitation, for matter is essentially finite, because it is the suppositional opposite to the one infinite All, divine Mind.

Therefore limitation and enemies are synonymous, both a negation, and their illusions are proved null and void in proportion as infinite, divine Mind and its infinite idea are seen as All-in-all.

The belief of enemies, then, is part and parcel of the whole false belief of life, substance, and intelligence in matter, which is spontaneously destroyed by the revelation of the allness of Mind.

Divine Science, rising above physical theories, excludes matter, resolves things into thoughts , and replaces the objects of material sense with spiritual ideas.

He finds that there is in reality no material universe, that the so-called material universe is merely the objectified state of mortal mind, and that this mortal mind disappears into its native nothingness when the one infinite, eternal, divine Mind is seen as All-in-all.

What is it that harms you? Can height, or depth, or any other creature separate you from the Love that is omnipresent good,—that blesses infinitely one and all?

But humanity cannot stop at merely improved governmental forms, and will not be permitted to do so. Perfection is the demand of eternity.

The purest human democracy, no matter how much cause for rejoicing there is in it, must finally surrender its sovereignty to what is even now the sole governor of all, the immortal Mind or Principle.

But the unfoldment of this real governing power is increasingly evident in the world, and every individual should strive to have an ever larger part in its coming.

Campaigning is a process of enlightenment. He knows all things, because he expresses all-inclusive Mind. His very existence establishes the fact that good is supreme and has never been defeated because evil is unknown and non-existent.

Since the enlightenment or understanding of man is full-rounded at this very moment, there is nothing subtly hidden from him, that he ought to know.

Principle, the cause of all, is setting before him, as the image of Mind, all the vast unfoldment of divine intelligence. So there can be no hidden issues, no secret influencing.

All things are patent and unobscured in the glory of wholly good Mind, which includes within itself everything. The individual voter of this year, who has proved the truth of Mrs.

He can, in proportion to his faithfulness and consecration, demonstrate the higher choosing and the higher electing, in this way coming closer to a more spiritual concept of voter.

He may not have legally even the right to go into a voting booth and cast his ballot, and yet, through his understanding of Principle, may exert more power for good than a legion of seemingly unawakened electors.

Turning wholly to infinite Mind would destroy all suppositional opposition to whatever is right, whether what is right be the privilege of suffrage or the prerogative of freedom in any direction.

No one can shirk his responsibility to really vote, or choose, for he has always full power to approve and choose the good.

From the divine Mind is proceeding the invincible expression of its power. This is potent as the Christ, or Truth, in every land, in no matter what isolated balloting place afar in the mountains, or in what populous precinct of a city of millions where hidden evil and wrong aims seem to prevail.

Divine Science is healing the world, the nation, the city, the hamlet, and the remote community, and in every election those who understand the power of Mind can be guided to vote aright.

This Science is a law of divine Mind, a persuasive animus, an unerring impetus, an ever-present help. Its presence is felt, for it acts and acts wisely, always unfolding the highway of hope, faith, understanding.

It is the higher criticism, the higher hope; and its effect on man is mainly this—that the good which has come into his life, examination compels him to think genuine, whoever did it.

A Christian Scientist verifies his calling. Choose ye! It makes no difference what mortal sense claims about a situation. It may assert that there is no choice, that one course of action is as good as another.

But that is the part of the one who does not know enough to take or does not wish to take the trouble to overcome the inertia of so-called mortal mind, involved in an appeal to divine reality, to ascertain what is right.

The fruits of this appeal will unfold in human affairs as that which is nearest right under the conditions prevailing. Even though there may seem to exist no outstanding manifestation of what is the right course, yet in spite of this there is everpresent, and never absent, incisive, all-powerful rectitude, the knowledge that Principle includes.

There need be not the slightest doubt for the one who lifts voting above the canvas balloting booth that Principle has forever chosen and approved rightly.

For Mind has always established righteous government for the true man, and has approved perfect unfoldment as all that can ever take place.

It is Mind that approves, chooses, or elects righteous government and man possesses the quality of approving rightly. Consequently, no person need ever be at a loss as to what the campaign is bringing forth and what it should bring forth, nor how to vote, nor what the election should be.

This metaphysical truth, held to, by even a minority of persons in a nation, will bring its divine vigor to bear on every problem, and make its perfection manifest, even in an apparent wilderness of political uncertainty.

True Substance. What nonsense, declares the ordinary, healthy materialist and he promptly proceeds to show the utter absurdity of such a notion by the simple process of stamping on the ground or thumping the table.

If he happens to be one of those rather rare exceptions who will listen to reason, you can then ask him how the earth which he so forcibly stamps on came into being.

He will then very likely start off on an explanation of the Darwinian, the Bergson or some other theory and end up with an egg or an atom still unaccounted for.

At this point he will come to a stop as he will find himself trying to solve the old conundrum as to which came first, the hen or the egg.

In other words he cannot account for matter. The investigator of Christian Science does not get very far before he finds himself facing the same question, because the keynote of the teachings of Christian Science as given by Mary Baker Eddy in the textbook, Science and Health p.

The great importance which Mrs. Eddy has laid on this point is shown by the fact that she has put in the order of service for all Christian Science churches that the scientific statement of being which has been quoted in part above, should be read at the end of every Sunday and Thanksgiving service.

Now it is just because Mrs. Eddy emphasized the unreality of matter in season and out of season that the material world has tried to silence her teachings by ridicule and opposition of every kind, and may continue to do so until the end of all things material.

This is, of course, quite natural, for all that mortal mind wants is to be left alone, and certainly it does not want to be shown to be but the counterfeit of real substance.

If Christian Science would not insist on its unreality the world would be perfectly courteous and tolerant towards it. But Christian Science is doing the exact opposite and is proving by actual demonstration that matter is only a lie.

So after all it is only in self-defense that the materialist stamps so hard on the ground and thumps the table so vigorously. Eddy saw very clearly that the reader of the Christian Science textbook would have a struggle with himself before he became willing to give up the notion of a real universe in matter, which had been handed down to him from father to son, from generation to generation, and find that such a conception of the world might after all only be a dream of pleasure and pain in the senses.

Now one has only to examine the first few lines of the scientific statement of being. The fact that disease and all inharmony are purely mental is not usually very readily admitted even by the unprejudiced investigator in search of healing.

The old theological nightmares that God in His inscrutable wisdom inflicts sickness on His children, and that God predestines man made in his own image and likeness to eternal punishment, are nevertheless admitted to be pure and unadulterated fiction.

In order to answer the question, Is there no truth in matter? Starting from the basis that God is infinite Life, Truth, and Love, it follows that all that can exist in the entire universe must be the emanation of God.

This is of course assuming that God is infinite. What is the opposite of Truth but a lie. The conclusion, therefore, forced upon one, is that the existence of an opposite to God is entirely illogical and supposititious.

In fact there can be no truth in it. With this is also bound up the other question, Is there no substance in matter?

Is this human or mortal mind inside or outside the human head? Medical theories are silent on this point. That this mind can be the emanation of God is impossible, because God could not be the originator of the evil thoughts and desires which proceed from it.

But, one may ask quite naturally, if this material world is only the counterfeit of the true one, where is the real one and has anybody seen it?

In divine Science, man possesses this recognition of harmony consciously in proportion to his understanding of God. Whether anyone has ever been conscious of the kingdom of heaven is best answered by reading the wonderful description John wrote to the seven churches in Asia of the revelation which came to him while a prisoner on the island of Patmos, off the coast of Asia Minor.

Dishonesty is human weakness, which forfeits divine help. In the same way it can be shown that as weakness is the natural expression of mortality there can be no such thing as human strength.

What is called human strength and what appears in human experience as strength, either mental or physical, seems to exist because of the omnipresence of spiritual power and because the belief in human weakness is either being temporarily held in check by blind belief, or because the idea of spiritual power is being perceived through spiritual understanding.

Strength, dependent on blind belief is the honesty of the time server. Honesty dependent on spiritual understanding is spiritual power.

In human experience the terms honesty and dishonesty are used to express what are really degrees of dishonesty. These degrees extend from complete lack of any sense of honesty to its highest possible human perception.

This progressive unfoldment of a human sense of honesty follows the perception, at least in some degree, of the true idea of honesty in its dependence on Principle.

In other words spiritual power becomes operative in human affairs as it is perceived in individual consciousness. Any action seems legitimate if only it will bring material gain.

Desire is directed to position, power, money, the lust of the flesh, and the pride of life, and the propulsive power is human weakness, dishonesty. Understanding is inseparable from expression.

Principle and its expression is one, and so in belief the counterfeit mind and its expression is one. Thus a man is rightly judged by his deeds.

The belief that mind can be separated from its expression, that a man can think right and act wrong, is the essence of dishonesty.

That belief necessitates the acceptance of minds many and suggests the possible separation of Principle and idea.

To believe that one can have a human sense of honesty unaccompanied by its demonstration is to believe that the human mind can hold an independent idea of honesty.

This is equivalent to saying that the human mind has spiritual power, which is the root of the belief in will-power, wrong practice, and mesmerism.

What a man knows about the idea of honesty, which idea never leaves the divine Mind, is seen by the amount of honesty he expresses in his life. Since the world of material belief emerged from the chaos of the complete acceptance of matter, as indicated in the first chapter of Genesis, belief has gradually been disappearing before the perception of spiritual power.

This clearer perception of spiritual power has appeared mainly because of the practical expression of honesty in human living.

Whenever the practice of honesty seems to have gone ahead of the perception of the idea, a further perception of that idea has been added.

Similarly, whenever the practice of honesty has lagged behind the possible perception of the idea, the mist has once more risen from the earth as described in the second chapter of Genesis.

It made him an honest man, a good carpenter, and a good man, before it could make him the glorified. The declaration of the unreality of human experience has sometimes been held, by critics of Christian Science, to be a reason for the possible justification of wrong actions in that experience.

Such dishonesty could only be practiced by one who had exchanged a belief in matter for a belief in self-deception. Self-deception may lead to the justification of wrong action by the thought that good will result, but Christian Science demands that even in the unreality of human experience, a stand be made for the highest possible sense of honesty.

It may be an uphill struggle but it is the only way out of unreality. It is necessary, however, to perceive that when progress has been made it has followed the action of some one who not only stood for his highest sense of honesty but perceived a further and more metaphysical sense of honesty and tried for it.

The Plan of Principle. The wrecks of human plans and policies fairly litter the pages of history, because anything that is not found in Principle is as the substanceless shadow, that which seems to be something but is not.

Material thinking and human policy, with its disappointed hope, have been partners from the beginning. This is but another way of saying that the plan and the planner, the mental activity and its product, are one, and both fall into the ditch unless they are in conformity with Principle and its idea.

Human thought has a way of taking an inventory of its stock in trade, and then, in league with the serpent, laying its plans to seize the fruit which it deems most desirable.

Certainly such plans will exist as long as there seems to be a mind capable of forming them.

Over and over again the Bible tells us to rejoice in the Lord and to sing praises. Christian Science teaches that true rejoicing is based on an understanding of Principle, a knowledge of the unity of good.

But when in Christian Science we learn that we have every reason in the world to be glad and are given an absolute and definite rule by which to work it out, it is no longer a hopeless pretense but a present possibility.

Limitation is foreign to the unity of good, it implies rather a lack of or an unequal division of good. It implies that one person may be suited to do a certain thing and that another person is completely unqualified or has not the ability to learn, whereas we have seen that God is indivisible and that He is no respecter of persons.

Mind cannot be limited and right here and now, we all possess the infinite all of good. The metaphysician, expelled from physics of last century, has come back to his own.

The closing years of last century found the earth and the heavens triumphantly resolved into some eighty elements. Natural scientists admitted that possibly some more might be discovered but, to all intents and purposes, the great resolution was regarded as complete.

The next step was the collapse of the element. Elements under more drastic examination were found to appear in different forms, until, finally, it was shown quite conclusively that the constitution of all elements is hydrogen atoms, bound together with electrons.

In the last resort, matter has become a number, a measure, not a thing. For this last, of course, is the inevitable inference, although it is an inference such as will never be made to any purpose by those uninstructed in Christian Science.

As far as the layman in such matters is concerned, such theories are regarded as amiable speculations. To the world as he knows it, sees it and feels it, it makes no difference to be told that, after all, it is only so many hydrogen atoms bound together with electrons.

It is all very interesting, and may be all very true, but he cannot see how such knowledge can change his position one whit for the better or for the worse.

And of course it cannot. For the great fact revealed in Christian Science, the unreality of matter, has not been apprehended. All that has been done is to exchange one human theory for another, a belief in eighty elements for a belief in hydrogen atoms bound together by electrons.

He simply made the declaration of its utter unreality, and then proceeded to prove his statement. And he did prove it, at every turn, beyond all possibility of doubt.

In walking upon the water, in stopping a storm at sea, in feeding five thousand people with five barley loaves and two small fishes, in healing the sick and raising the dead, he annihilated, one by one, the so-called laws of matter, and proved their unreality.

If any consideration be given to the works of Jesus, with this point of view, it will be seen that the power he demonstrated deprived matter of all form, place, and power, and showed it to be nothing more than error of belief.

And what is an error of belief? It is, of course, an unreality which cannot affect the reality. By understanding this, and demonstrating it, Jesus proved the allness and ever availability of Spirit.

This is Christian Science. Now Mrs. Mythology; mortality; another name for mortal mind; illusion; intelligence, substance, and life in non-intelligence and mortality; life resulting in death, and death in life; sensation in the sensationless; mind originating in matter; the opposite of Truth; the opposite of Spirit; the opposite of God; that of which immortal Mind takes no cognizance; that which mortal mind sees, feels, hears, tastes, and smells only in belief.

And yet even the mortal uninstructed in Christian Science is eager to admit that the things, above all others, that he most desires he is quite unable to apprehend with these five senses.

Love, joy, peace, happiness, health and so on he recognizes as states of mind and not states of matter. Not by proving, step by step, that matter is really hydrogen atoms bound together with electrons, or even that it is merely a number, but with the simple declaration recorded by Mrs.

All is infinite Mind and its infinite manifestation, for God is All-in-all. Enemies a Negation. This false belief is the universal excuse under which the human mind has ever sought to hide or to justify its shortcomings and limitations.

Since God is all the power and all the presence there is, where is there room for any supposed power claiming to separate man from his divine Principle, and so to reverse the very nature of man?

Such a false claim can find lodgment only in mortal belief, the objectified state of the human mind, which is but the suppositional opposite to the one infinite, divine Mind.

Of course it goes without saying that the very belief of enemies is, not only a belief in limitation, but an effort, either conscious or unconscious, to excuse limitation.

One says he is prevented from giving rightful evidence of eternal at-one-ment with infinite good because another has apparently failed in giving his full measure of service to him or to others.
